Club News May 2015

Our club continues to have a strong relationship with the Piedmont Music Club. We have had several pedagogy events throughout the year in conjunction with the PMC, and we look forward to continuing this close relationship for years to come.

Although the season is nearly complete, there are still some exciting events coming up in May and June. The Gold Cup/Senior Scholarship Recital will be held on May 17 at 5pm at St. Paul United Methodist Church, and pianist Alon Goldstein will perform on May 30 at 7pm at Westminster at Lake Ridge. In June, the Saturday House Concert will be held at Katie Largent’s home on June 6 at 5pm, and the Spring Luncheon will take place at the Cheesecake Factory on June 8 at 11:30am. I hope you can make it to some of these upcoming events!

As I previously mentioned, I will be stepping down as President at the conclusion of this season. I have really enjoyed serving the club as President for the past year, and as Vice President for the previous two years. William Gray will be taking over as President, and Emily Baird will be the club’s new Vice President. These new officers will be sworn in at the Spring Luncheon on June 8. Our club thrives on member participation, so I would like to offer my sincerest thanks to William Gray and Emily Baird, along with Treasurer Zuill Bailey and Secretary Katie Largent. Thanks as well to all of the members who work so hard at making this club such a success.

Lastly, since the club’s next season will be here before we know it, I am including the 2015-16 Membership Application. Please note that the deadline to submit your application without a late fee is July 1. Please consider submitting your application before the summer begins to ensure that your information will be included in the 2015-16 yearbook.

Thanks again for all that you do to make this club a success. It has been a joy to serve as your president, and I look forward to continuing my membership with the club for many years to come.

Sincerely,

Becky Crowley, D.M.A.

President, Woodbridge Music Club
