New: 2023-2024 Woodbridge Music Club Membership Application

We welcome all who appreciate music and want to further the arts in our community. We envision a community alive with music and with opportunities for students and professional musicians to grow through performance and interaction.

Hello Members and Supporters of the Woodbridge Music Club, Current, Former, and Future. My name is Dr. Robert Shuffett.

I am honored to serve as the new President of the Woodbridge Music Club. I am a composer, and hold a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University in music composition. I hope to make the best out of our current difficult situation by using virtual tools such as Zoom, to hold meetings, student recitals, lecture recitals, etc. I will also will be focusing on maintaining and strengthening the club for the future, when it is once again safe to meet in person. In order to stay in touch with our members during this COVID-19 pandemic, the Woodbridge Music Club will be meeting virtually on the third Thursday of each month, at noon, via Zoom. In conclusion, I want to thank you for your continued encouragement and support.

The Woodbridge Music Club is a non-profit organization and is affiliated with the National Federation of Music Clubs and the Virginia Federation of Music Clubs. Its membership includes trained musicians and music lovers alike and is supported by membership dues and donations. We serve the citizens of Prince William County, Virginia by promoting the performance of music and the education of musicians in our community.

We do this in numerous ways:
  • We present free community concerts performed by local musicians and guest artists.
  • We provide performance opportunities for members through participation in formal programs as well as more relaxed in-house concerts.
  • We provide professional opportunities for musicians and music teachers such as workshops, master classes, and round table discussions.
  • We provide performance opportunities and scholarships for students through recitals, competitions, and festival auditions.
  • We provide a referral service for those in the community seeking professional music teachers.
