Attached you will find a flyer for several of our club's upcoming performances, which will take place at Westminster at Lake Ridge. Please try to attend some of these fantastic performances. Please take note that the February 21 concert at Westminster at Lake Ridge has been cancelled.
The next Student Recitals will be on Feb. 8 at 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Deadline is Jan. 26. NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Please read about the Student Recital Application submission details on p.14 in your yellow WMC Bulletin. Expect to have 2 Student Recitals, except for the same day as the Gold Cup Recital (May 17). We need your assistance in setting up, checking off your students (letting the Chairmen know who has arrived and who is still missing), and setting up the stage and putting everything back in its place. Concert Dress is required for students. All solo pieces must be memorized. Students are expected to stay for the entire recital. Please tell your students not to show up late, then leave early. We want to respect the other students' performing, and those enjoying the music. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Grace Reid or Soo Cho.
The Scholarship Competitions are coming up March 14 and applications are to be postmarked by February 20. Students competing must be able to perform in the Winners' Recital on March 15 at 5:00. Please refer to The Woodbridge Music Club Handbook (pages 15-16) if you need any information regarding these competitions. We are hoping the Vocal Competition will run this year but we need enough students. The Instrumental event has been so successful that we have added a second division for middle school students. Please contact Laura Riski or one of the committee members if you have any questions. This has always been a great event and the Winners' Recital is one you and your students should put on your calendar.
