Dear Woodbridge Music Club Members:
We had a good turn out for the Soldiers’ Chorus last Saturday Night - perhaps not as good as we would have liked for such a special concert, but everyone enjoyed the magnificent performance. It was filled with variety, patriotism, and America! A very special thanks to Lara Brittain, the High School Choir Director, and member of the choir who came out and helped with set up and support for the performance. This was a very successful collaboration with Forest Park High School Choir and one we may want to continue in the future. I want to thank Debora Madsen who originally suggested bringing in the Soldiers’ Chorus, made the initial arrangements with the chorus, and advertised the event in the community. I also want to thank Emily Baird who approached Ms Brittain about collaborating with us for this event. All in all, this concert turned out very well for our club and for the community we serve.

I have also listed a Spring Board Meeting in the Yearbook for March 24, location to be determined. I want to change the date of this meeting since Saturdays do not seem to be a good day to get the board together. The date I am looking at is Friday, March 30, again location to be determined. Several key things will be discussed at this meeting. These include, but are not limited to:

- Student Recital this Saturday, 2:00 pm at St Paul’s
- VFMC/NFMC Festival - February 23-24 at Manassas Baptist Church
- WMC Scholarship Competitions (Piano/Instrumental/Vocal) - March 3 at St Paul’s
- WMC Scholarship Winners Recital - March 4, 5:00 pm at St Paul’s

- Appointing a Search Committee to select WMC officers to begin their term in June
- Review a proposal to raise money purchase a piano for a public facility in Woodbridge that can be used for member’s student recitals
- Discuss any changes recommended for WMC by-laws
